Cowparade

Just got back from a conference in Boston. They have a Cowparade going on up there with these brightly painted statues all over the city.

I also just set up a Picasaweb website from the new Picasa beta software. Here is the link to the site. http://picasaweb.google.com/bobt54 Posted by Picasa

After my dismal failure to get any quality Cherry Blossom shots around the Tidal Basin, I got up obcenely early, at least for me, and captured this.

The best time of the year to visit Washington, DC is in the spring and the best time to photograph the Cherry Blossoms is at dawn.

Went downtown Friday evening and thought I would photograph the Cherry Blossoms around the Tidal Basin. Unfortunately, they were not lit up. I guess that is why I have never seen any good shots of the Cherry Blossoms surrounding the Tidal Basin at night. This is the best I could do. The blossoms are illuminated by streat lights and traffic with some help from my flash.

ESPN.com - Tennis Index

Made it to the big time today. My picture is currently running on the Tennis page of ESPN. Thought that was pretty cool. One of these days I will make it "to the big time" and actually get paid for it.

Lost my best buddy yesterday. Before Wrinkles, I had never been much of a dog person. He changed all that. He was such a gentle dog. Never threatening. I trusted him completely that even when roughhousing, he would never bite me, even by accident. Great with children. Always a crowd pleaser when we would go out. Got him when he was a little over a year old from my son who could not keep him because he had roommates with cats.

He will be missed by all he touched.

For the month of February, I am doing a Black and White theme. It should be interesting and quite a challenge. Also on a sad note, the cat pictured here, Chrissy, passed away. I am not sure but she was 15 years old. I think she lived so long because she never really expended much energy doing anything else other than sleeping, eating and of course her favorite past-time, pooping. That is the one thing I will not miss is that cat box.

Still she was a good cat. Didn't tear up stuff or take out her frustrations by peeing on your clothes or your bed as I have heard some cats like to do. Liked to stay inside most of the time but occasionally would sneak outside.

Not sure I will get another cat, at least not anytime soon. At this time of the year both my wife and I are out of the house a lot and that would be unfair to any new pet.

Chrissy, you will me missed. Goodbye.

Re-posted these on my Flickr site. So far I am liking Flickr. Has a nice feel to it and it has many features that Pbase either doesn't have or you have to add with 3rd party help. It is not near as slow as Pbase gets. The only thing Pbase has over it is the ability to arrange your photos as you see fit.

New Photo Website

I have been looking at alternatives to Pbase as I have become increasing dissatisfied with what is going on there. Here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bobt54/

Let me know what you think of the new site.

Surprising picture

I am a little surprised that this picture has done as well as it has (in terms of comments received) I think there are much better pictures of Bryce, but they seem to like this one. Not sure why.

Yes, I know it is after Christmas, but I had two pictures from the Holidays I wanted to share. This is the first of two. The two houses are directly across the street from each other. One has to wonder what goes through these peoples minds when they are doing this. Where do they store all this stuff later? How much did it all cost? How much does it cost in electricity?

Up the street a bit, there are other houses that try to compete, but they are sadly out done by these two. You can find the other house in my PAD gallery. Posted by Picasa

Best of 2005 PAD pictures created

I created the best of 2005 PAD gallery. These are what I consider to the be the most artistic pictures for the entire year. Hope you enjoy them.

New Year. New PAD

It was the first of the year with a new PAD. A PAD is a Picture A Day. To the purists at Pbase that means actually taking a picture every day. Not going to happen here, boys and girls. Yes, there are people that do it, but you here them in the middle of the year moaning and complaining that their creative juices have run out or that it has become a chore.

With my PAD I will try to showcase the best picture I have or the most meaningful picture for that particular day. I have found that having a PAD increases traffic to your galleries. Posting a PAD picture puts your picture, if only for a fleeting moment, in the front of the PAD gallery.

I gage the success of my pics by the number of comments I receive. If I get 5 or more I consider it somewhat of a success. Posted by Picasa
